“What’s the most important thing in your life, is it Money or Family?”

I know the answer which all of you will give: “Family”, unless there is a way by which the truth can be revealed. Yes, we do love our family and may go to any extent for the fulfilment of their needs. But we also know very well that without money it’s not possible to make them happy.

If you want to try, then ask your wife that you love her too much, so no need to spend money on salon or shopping. Is only love sufficient in life? In case of a discontent couple, their marriage is supposed to be saved if they buy a bigger house, hire a maid or buy dishwasher and can visit expensive salon or restaurant at least once a week.

The scenario is changing in new India. The people know the family value but at the same time, they are becoming very money-minded. Let’s take the example of software engineer (or any professional) earning a lakh rupees per month. One day his father is unwell and becomes bedridden. He can move father to his house. He has to take care of his father by going office late, coming early. He has to do all the shopping, cooking, cleaning etc. While doing so he may be unproductive for his company. But the father would love the care taking by his son and would have respect for him. The option with software engineer is to hire a full-time nurse for Rs. 12000 per month. And nurse takes care of the father. Now he is able to focus on his job and at the same time a nurse is getting benefitted.

What do you think the engineer should do?

With the economic growth it demands that we loosen family bonds, people may have to leave their parents. Many a times care takers are now full time with the parents. So, what is more important, ‘economic growth’ or ‘care of family’? What is more “Ethical” to do? Or now, the more fantastic word used is “Practical”. We often hear this word when there is question of ethics.

Money matters. I would put it as ‘Money Matters The Most’. May it be for your basic needs, for you and your family’s healthcare, for your children’s education and probably for everything.

Whatever you want or desire, somewhere it will be linked with money. But in the process of gaining economic growth, let’s not miss the family as that will bring us the real happiness.
