Science & Religion
Talking about religion can be controversial everywhere in the world vis-à-vis for science shows how progressive you are.
We often hear this or some of us believe strongly ‘God helps those who help themselves’.
Does it mean God exists and is actually helping you? The point is, it definitely inspires you to help yourself and yes — it helps.
How about the medicine you take to cure your diseases? You believe or not but unlike God it helps to cure your disease.
The new technology is upgrading the humans, finding the new solutions to overcome old age and solving many problems. Does it mean that people won’t care much about fictional Gods?
The fact is Science has certainly changed us more than we have ever thought. But it did not simply replace it with the myths. Myths have always dominated the mankind and much of the surprise, science only makes myths stronger. With the on growing development in Artificial intelligence and bioengineering the difference between fiction and reality will smudge.
It is complicated that whether religion is Superstition, Spirituality or belief in Superpower ( GOD ). The real problem is none of people like to call their belief as ‘superstitions’. For them it is truth and for other its superstitions. But the fact is religion is created by humans rather than by gods. Most of the religion assert the system of moral laws.
A Jew would say moral law created by GOD and it is revealed in bible. A Hindu’s take will be its Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva revealed in Vedas. And Muslims or Buddhist will blindly trust it on their holy books.
Every community imposes its members the moral laws as per their holy book and breaking these laws will result it in calamity.
This communities try to control human behavior and that’s the reason we often hear-
‘If you obey the GOD, you will be admitted to heaven and if you disobey Him, you will be burnt to hell.’
But as a matter of fact, some of the humans — let’s call Rich people, have direct access to temples / church or any place of worship. No queue for them. As maybe they are privileged. And I sometime wonder does the God observe it, and does He even care?
Religion is definitely not spirituality, as spirituality is the true journey which always leads to unknown destinations. We can talk about spirituality some other time as the topic itself is very enormous and may be misinterpreted.
Scientist studies how the world functions, but there is no method to see how human behave.
The religion can provide the necessary guidelines. Religion has nothing to speak about scientific facts, and science should keep its mouth shut in religious matters.
